This is an all-in-one bundle that not only includes the Hero13 Black itself but also a set of creative add-ons: a Macro Lens, Ultra Wide Lens, Anamorphic Lens, a four-pack of ND filters, and a premium case to keep everything organized.
At its core, the Hero 13 Black isn’t a massive redesign over the previous-gen Hero 12 Black. It has the same compact 2.0 x 2.8 x 1.3-inch body, weighs 5.6 ounces, and works with existing GoPro accessories. Video capabilities remain best-in-class, offering continuous 5.3K60, 4K120, and slow-motion up to 400fps. You also get 10-bit HDR and GP-Log color profiles, making it flexible for both casual shooters and those who like to edit more seriously. But as our Associate Tech Editor Michelle Ehrhardt points out in her review of the Hero 13, what really makes it worth considering are two key changes: the above-mentioned modular HB-series lenses that add creative flexibility, and magnetic mounting that finally helps GoPro match competitors like DJI.
Additionally, the GoPro Hero 13 Black comes with a bigger 1,900mAh Enduro battery, which means longer runtimes and reportedly better heat control when the camera is locked down. Also, there’s now a built-in GPS for tagging location and telemetry data, and wireless support has been updated to wifi 6 for faster offloading, which further adds to the appeal. That said, it is not perfect—the rear touchscreen is still small and dim in direct sun, and handheld use without an accessory grip is awkward, notes this PCMag review—but if you want a rugged, waterproof action cam that doubles as a creative tool, this package is hard to ignore at the current price.
