My Favorite Amazon Deal of the Day: This AOSU Solar Camera

I’ve been in search of the best solar camera for the money that is also subscription-free ever since my home was broken into. That camera for me has been the Aosu Solar Camera, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an easy set-up, subscription-free, reliable solar camera with a 360-degree view. You can get it for $59.99 (originally $79.99), an impressive value for the money.

This camera is one of the best I’ve tested, and it’s simple to install. You only need to mount it with some screws into the wall or column you want to keep eyes on. Ideally, you want to get direct sunlight in that spot. Mine has never run out of battery, even through the winter in Atlanta. While it can work without direct sunlight, it won’t recharge the battery as fast. You can’t move the solar panel around, so the placement has to be strategic. However, since the camera pans 360 degrees, the angle it’s facing at setup is not important (just make sure it’s facing the sun as much as possible).

The app is the smoothest and most responsive I’ve used (compared to Reolink, Eufy, and Lorex). It has some nice features, like human tracking, which focuses the camera on a person who walks in the frame and follows them around. At night, it’ll record in 2K resolution. There is no subscription fee, but you’ll need an SD card for it. It’s IP65 weatherproof and compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant. You can also set up alarms and it has a spotlight that activates at night with movement (nowhere near as strong as a spotlight, but enough to deter someone at night from a small porch).
