Google’s First Foldable Phone Is Down to $580 for Labor Day

As Labor Day tech sales continue to roll in , one deal that caught my eye is a discount on Google’s first foldable phone. Right now, Woot is offering a new, unlocked Google Pixel Fold for $579.99 (256 GB) or $699.99 (512 GB), which is around $40 cheaper than the phone costs on Amazon. Keep in mind that Woot only ships to the 48 contiguous states in the U.S. (free shipping for Prime members; $6 for non-Prime members).

Powered by the Google Tensor G2 chip and a 4,821 mAh battery, it’s not as fast or long-lasting as more recent models like the Pixel 9 Pro Fold , but it still performs well for everyday use. Since this is a 2023 release, productivity features also won’t be as refined, but at a significantly lower price, it still offers plenty of value and has gained a loyal following. The first phone’s wide “book style” and wider aspect ratio may also be more comfortable for some users to type on compared to newer releases, which are a bit narrower.

The phone is lightweight and slim, at approximately half an inch thick when closed, but highly durable thanks to a sturdy hinge, a Gorilla Glass Victus coating, and an IPX8 water-resistance rating, meaning it can be immersed in water for up to half an hour. It has a 5.8-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. It can capture 4K video and has three rear lenses (48 MP wide, 10.8 MP ultrawide, and 10.8 MP telephoto) plus two front cameras (9.5 MP on the outer screen and 8 MP on the inner screen).
