WWDC 2026 Live Blog: Announcements About iOS 27, AI Siri, Apple Intelligence, and More

We are now fewer than 24 hours away from WWDC 2026. On Monday, June 8, Apple will kick off its week-long developer conference with its famous WWDC keynote. If you’ve watched these events in the past, you already know a lot of what to expect: announcements regarding the next era of Apple’s software, including iOS 27, macOS 27, and watchOS 27, among others.

But this year is a bit different. Yes, Apple will almost assuredly announce these updates for its products. But for the first time since 2024, the focus will be almost entirely on AI, centered on Apple’s big Siri upgrades—powered by AI, of course. The company originally announced the new Siri two years ago, advertising it as part of iOS 18, but delayed the assistant many times due to internal issues. Now, AI Siri is finally ready for the limelight—if the rumors are to be believed. Apple is also expected to launch a number of new AI features, as well, including AI-powered photo editing tools, AI-generated wallpapers, and the ability to ask Apple Intelligence to design shortcuts for you. This is a bit of a redemption opportunity for the company, which has been criticized for falling behind in the AI race.

All that said, Apple hasn’t announced much of its own yet, so the above is based entirely on leaks and rumors. We’ll have to wait until Apple’s keynote to know what the company has planned for sure. To that point, below you’ll find Lifehacker’s live blog for WWDC 2026. Here, I’ll be posting around the clock, updating the page with Apple news as we get it. In the lead-up to the event, I’ll share rumors and speculation about what Apple may announce during the keynote. Once WWDC officially starts at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET), I’ll be sharing live updates from the show.
