Google's Newest, Best Smart Thermostat Is $60 Off for Prime Day

Nest thermostats have been around for a while, and they just keep getting better. The latest, the 4th generation model Nest Learning Thermostat adds new intelligent features like monitoring outdoor air quality and circulating interior air when the air outdoors is less than stellar.

The new thermostat has a stylish, modern design that fits in with almost any home decor. Like previous models, this one will learn your habits, including when you are and aren’t home, and will adjust your heating and AC to keep things comfortable while minimizing energy use.

Newer features like Nest Renew can prioritize heating or cooling when the energy you’re paying for is cheapest, to help lower your bill even further. It can also help when you’re on vacation, by reducing the heating or cooling while you’re gone, and easing it back to a comfortable temperature before you get back, to avoid massive spikes in energy use from trying to cool or heat a lot all at once.

Normally, this thermostat retails for $280, but right now it’s down to $220, which is $20 lower than the sale price we typically see it at. This model has only been out for about a year, so there hasn’t been a better time to pick this one up.

Looking for something else? Retailers like Walmart, Best Buy, and Home Depot have Prime Day competition sales that are especially useful if you don’t have Amazon Prime.

• Walmart’s Prime Day competition sale begins at midnight on July 8 and will include deals up to 50% off . It’s an especially good option if you have Walmart+. 

• Best Buy’s Prime Day competition sale, “Black Friday in July,” runs through Sunday, July 13 and has some of the best tech sales online . It’s an especially good option if you’re a My Best Buy “Plus” or “Total” member.

• Home Depot extended its 4th of July sale through at least July 9, competing with some amazing deals of its own . It’s an especially good option if you’re looking for power tools, appliances, or outdoor equipment.
